Role: Robotics Engineer

Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Robotics Engineer with strong expertise in Yaskawa robot programming, MotoSim simulation, robotic workcells, and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and optimizing 6-axis robots, performing reach and payload analysis, and supporting robotic automation systems in a manufacturing environment. Experience with waterjet cutting applications is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, debug, and optimize online programs for Yaskawa 6-axis robots.
- Use MotoSim for robot simulation, reachability studies, collision detection, and cycle-time optimization.
- Perform robot reach and payload analysis, considering tooling weight, center of gravity, and moment of inertia.
- Optimize robot paths, motion profiles, and robotic control logic.
- Support the integration of robotic workcells, automation equipment, and EOAT.
- Integrate and troubleshoot vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence.
- Troubleshoot robot programming, motion, communication, and automation issues during commissioning and production.
- Perform robotic safety and risk assessments in accordance with ANSI/RIA R15.06 and ISO 10218.
- Support safety system integration, including safety PLCs, light curtains, interlocks, E-stops, and fail-safe mechanisms.
- Support commissioning, testing, validation, and production launch activities.
Required Skills:
- 5–7 years of experience in industrial robotics and automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with online programming of Yaskawa robots.
- Mandatory experience with MotoSim.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting 6-axis industrial robots.
- Strong knowledge of robot kinematics, reachability, payload calculations, and motion optimization.
- Experience with Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems.
- Knowledge of ANSI/RIA R15.06, ISO 10218, and robotic risk assessments.
- Experience with robotic safety systems and automation workcells.
- Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and experience with EOAT integration.
- Waterjet cutting experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
