Job Opportunity: Elections Division Summer Intern
Are you looking to witness democracy in action and gain hands-on experience in public service? The Elections Division is seeking motivated students and recent graduates for a fast-paced, high-impact 5-week Summer Internship Program supporting the initiative review process ahead of the 2026 election.
This is a full-time, rigorous role where you will learn the ins and outs of election administration, research state statutes, and directly contribute to reviewing initiative petition sheets.
⚠️ Non-Negotiable Requirements (Please Read Before Applying)
- Strict Commitment: You must be available full-time from June 29, 2026, to July 31, 2026 onsite in downtown Phoenix.
- Schedule Flexibility: This role requires working weekends, the 4th of July holiday, and overtime. No part-time schedules are available.
- Age & Education: Must be at least 16 years old. Must be a current student (University, Community College, Technical School, or High School Junior/Senior) or a recent graduate. Proof of enrollment/degree required upon hire.
- Academics: Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
What You Will Do
- Statutory Research: Learn to navigate state statutes and the specific legal requirements of the initiative process.
- Petition Review: Review initiative petition sheets to ensure strict compliance with statutory requirements.
- Professional Development: Attend targeted trainings related to election administration and observe the inner workings of state government.
