About the Role
The Director of Global Accounting will lead the global close process and partner with finance, operations, IT, and business leaders to ensure transactions are properly reviewed, recorded, consolidated, and reported. This role will also support accounting transformation initiatives, including system improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across multiple entities.
- Oversee journal entries, account analysis, reconciliations, intercompany activity, consolidations, and reporting packages.
- Partner with global operations and finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent accounting practices.
- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and related financial reporting processes.
- Review contracts and business transactions to determine proper accounting treatment.
- Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and SOX procedures.
- Support internal and external reporting requirements and ensure accuracy of financial information.
- Provide timely analysis and reporting to support executive decision-making.
- Partner with IT on accounting system improvements and ERP transformation initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, AI, and other efficiency tools.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Support special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA license.
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong U.S. GAAP and technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience with global consolidations, foreign currency translation, and multi-entity accounting.
- Experience working in a public company or complex global environment.
- Strong knowledge of SOX, internal controls, accounting processes, and audit requirements.
- ERP system experience, with SAP or similar systems preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Inventory and cost accounting experience.
- ERP transformation experience.
- Interest or experience with finance automation and AI-enabled tools.
