DRIVER/SHIPPER (CDL A or B)

This position is classified as full-time. The position typically involves 10-hour shifts, 5 days per week. Occasional weekends may be required.

The Driver/Material Mover position will assist as needed in the day-to-day shipping needs of the organization. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

· Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle (Straight Truck)

· Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.

· Pick-up and safely transport goods, to the intended destination- longest drive currently is 3 hours each way (Home every night!)

using Forklift to move material around the facility, package material for final shipment

· Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury

· Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries

· Assist in mapping driving routes

· Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery

· Communicate with dispatch as needed

· Confirm that the contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document

· Perform documented inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip

· Check weather conditions and road reports before departure

· Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean

· Notify and document manager of any maintenance or delivery issues encountered

· Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times

· Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs

· Track and report working hours

· Adhere to company rules and regulations

· Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions

· Comply with DOT and FMCSA regulations

· Make safety a priority at all times – obeying all traffic laws and wearing seat belt while operating or riding in company vehicles

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Good Attendance

· 1-3 years of driving (CDL Class A or B) required

· Experience around industrial equipment a plus

· Must complete pre-employment drug screening and physical

· Forklift experience preferred
