Junior Stationary Engineer – Facilities
Location: El Dorado Hills, CA (On-Site, 100%) 95762
Job Type: Contractor
Pay Rate: $ $30.00/hr
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Duration: 6 months
Position Summary
This role provides on-site support for facilities operations, including maintenance, monitoring, and operation of electrical infrastructure and critical equipment. The Junior Stationary Engineer assists in maintaining equipment, adhering to safety standards, and supporting facilities maintenance while gaining hands-on experience with industrial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with maintenance inspections, monitor equipment, read gauges/meters, and record data.
- Assist with operations of large equipment, including standby generators and electrical switchgear (480V & 21,000V) once trained.
- Adhere to safety procedures, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out, NFPA 70E, and facility protocols.
- Maintain and clean assigned workspaces and equipment.
- Support inventory management for parts and consumables.
- Provide on-call support for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th shifts as required.
- Report deficiencies, abnormalities, and alarms to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Participate in corporate administrative and online training requirements.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following:
- 2- or 4-year degree, or certificate from technical/trade school in electric power, power generation, or industrial operations.
- Military or merchant marine experience in power distribution, generation, or industrial facilities operations.
- 2 years' experience as an industrial Facilities Technician or Facilities Engineer.
- Punctual, dependable, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure, take direction, and meet deadlines.
- Strong prioritization and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Knowledge of hand/power tools, manual hoists, calipers, micrometers, man lifts, and industrial lift trucks.
- Comfortable with heights (up to 35 ft) and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to attend skills training and perform on-call duties when qualified.
- Familiarity with PLCs, ladder logic, and standard/metric tools is a plus.
