Senior Finance Analyst (FP&A / Project Finance) – Contract
Location: Houston, TX (On‑site)
Teal Energi is partnered with a major energy infrastructure organization that is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to support a large, capital‑intensive development project currently in execution. This role sits within a high‑performing FP&A team and will play a key part in budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and leadership reporting for a complex, project‑driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly actuals vs. budget analysis for construction and operating cost areas, identifying drivers and trends
- Build, maintain, and enhance Excel‑based financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, and long‑range planning
- Partner with engineering, construction, project controls, and leadership teams to support budgeting and reforecasting cycles
- Monitor project financial performance and proactively surface risks, opportunities, and recommendations to management
- Prepare clear, concise executive‑level presentations and ad‑hoc financial analysis
- Support finance system tools related to budgeting, forecasting, and reporting; assist with implementation or enhancement efforts as needed
- Evaluate existing financial processes and help implement improvements to drive efficiency, accuracy, and consistency
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience in FP&A, project finance, accounting, or a related finance role
- Background supporting project‑based or capital‑intensive environments (energy, construction, industrial, EPC, or similar)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the energy sector (LNG, midstream, refining, chemicals, or large industrial projects)
- Exposure to construction or execution‑phase project finance
- Familiarity with SAP, Planful, or similar FP&A systems
- Experience collaborating closely with project controls, engineering, or operations teams
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
