Staff Accountant

I’m recruiting for a client seeking a Staff Accountant with strong general ledger experience and hands-on exposure to complex compensation or partnership-based calculations.
What You’ll Do
- Calculate and process monthly and quarterly partner compensation (“dividend”) payments
- Apply partner-specific calculations based on individual agreements and internal deductions
- Maintain schedules for partner draws, loans, and capital accounts
- Coordinate with Treasury to ensure timely funding of partner payments
- Prepare and post journal entries, GL imports, and related reconciliations
- Ensure partner compensation expenses are accurate, timely, and properly recorded
- Support audits, budgeting for partner compensation, and ad hoc partner requests
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3 years of GL or financial reporting experience
- Experience with partner compensation, payroll, or complex compensation structures strongly preferred
- Strong Excel skills; multi-system environment experience a plus
- Solid GAAP knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
- Professional and discreet with confidential compensation data
Work Environment
- Onsite role in Austin or Houston
- Standard hours with longer hours during peak monthly/quarterly cycles
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
