Our client, a financial services organization in the New York metro area, is hiring a senior tax leader to run compliance and reporting inside its in-house tax function. The Bachrach Group is running the search.
What You Will Do
What You Will Do
- Own the preparation and review of federal, state and local filings and information returns across a multi-entity structure
- Employment and payroll tax reporting across multiple states - remote-worker nexus, deferred compensation, imputed income
- Employee benefit plan tax filings and the reporting cycle around them
- Withholding, documentation and reporting for non-resident payees
- Research technical positions, document them, and manage the outside preparers and advisors
- Handle federal and state notices and examinations
- Partner with accounting, payroll, legal and HR on anything carrying a tax consequence
- Lead and mentor the tax staff
- Bachelor's in accounting; CPA required
- Fifteen or more years in tax, with substantial time at a large public accounting firm
- A track record reviewing complex compliance, not only preparing it
- Depth in one or more of employment tax, benefit plan tax, or information reporting
- Prior supervisory or team-lead experience
- Advanced Excel; comfortable working out of a large ERP
