Café Attendant - Tenderfoot Katie's

Café Attendants are responsible for providing friendly, efficient service in a high-volume, cafeteria-style environment while ensuring guests have everything they need to enjoy their dining experience. This position rotates between cashier, guest service, dining area maintenance, and stocking responsibilities while helping maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready restaurant. Success in this role requires a positive attitude, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests with friendly, attentive service while providing direction, information about the resort, and answering general questions
  
• Accurately process guest orders and payments using the point-of-sale system in a high-volume environment
  
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, allergen information, packaged food and drink options, and resort amenities to confidently assist guests
  
• Maintain dining areas by bussing tables, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, arranging tables and chairs, and ensuring guest spaces remain clean, organized, and welcoming throughout the day
  
• Monitor and maintain waste and recycling stations, sorting and disposing of waste according to standard operating procedures
  
• Stock and replenish packaged food, beverages, condiments, serviceware, and other supplies to support efficient operations
  
• Assist with receiving deliveries, unloading supplies, transporting products, and organizing storage areas
  
• Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, emptying trash and recycling, and maintaining service counters and other guest-facing areas
  
• Maintain outdoor dining areas, including arranging tables and chairs and cleaning spills
  
• Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested

Qualifications & Knowledge

• Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Food Handlers Certification upon hire
• Must already have or be willing to complete the New Mexico Alcohol Server Certification upon hire
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Work Environment: 

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position will require travel on uneven, snow packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold and/or humid conditions. May require working alone or with others depending on day’s business. 

Physical Demands of Position Include: 

Will often lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally team lift up to 50 pounds. 80-100% of the time will be spent standing, shoveling, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling. 25-50% of the time may be spent climbing/balancing and being exposed to the outdoors including winter weather conditions. Occasionally sitting – less than 15% of the time.

Positions dealing with children, of safety sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
