Brief Description
Job Title: Technical Trainer
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: IT Security Manager
Summary
The Technical Trainer delivers Network Orientation and enterprise application training based on organizational and customer needs. This role coordinates training with IT staff, vendors, and internal customers; tracks and manages training activity within the Learning Management System (LMS); and develops training content, documentation, and job aids to improve employee performance.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Training Delivery Coordination
High School diploma or GED required. Experience in application training and in Indian gaming is preferred. Practical knowledge and experience with information technology, network security, and infrastructure application best practices.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong working knowledge of computer operating systems. Advance proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including OneNote. Must be internet research savvy. Experience with a learning management tool or knowledge of what the tool can do is expected. Should be proficient in technical writing skills and training documentation skills.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Training Delivery Coordination
- Conducts network orientation classes to ensure new employees understand the information policy and network guidelines.
- Deliver routine enterprise application training and coordinate customized training with IT staff, vendors and internal customers.
- Assess training requests and determine appropriate in-house or external training solutions.
- Serve as a generalist across multiple platforms as needed to provide effective training.
- Supervise and instruct students in classroom and technology-based learning environments.
- Monitor team member comprehension and training effectiveness.
- Assist in the design, development, and delivery of technical and application training programs.
- Support the integration of technology-based learning systems for a diverse workforce.
- Ensures training materials remain accurate and current as systems and applications evolve.
- Develop or assist in authoring manuals, job aids, multimedia resources, and other training materials.
- Assist in IT procedure documentation and route materials for management approval. Collaboration & Liaison Activities
- Build strong working relationships with departments to identify training needs, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Participate in the IT Liaison Program, including coordination of meetings, seminars, agendas, and materials.
- Collaborate with IT managers, supervisors, and business analysts to support the Technology Training Plan.
- Monitor IT staff in training delivery and documentation standards. Logistics, Budget, and Compliance
- Schedule and coordinate classroom and computer lab usage, ensuring systems are operational and ready.
- Coordinate offsite training logistics, including team member notifications and travel scheduling support.
- Assist in gathering training budget information and ensure efficient use of training funds.
- Remain current on emerging technologies, training trends, and best practices.
- Support professional development initiatives for tribal and community members in coordination with HR.
- Comply with all departmental, Casino Arizona, tribal, federal, and gaming regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and comply with HIPAA security training requirements.
