Job Title: Cage Technician

Department: Cage/Vault

Reports To: Cage Technician Supervisor

This role requires flexibility. Candidates must be willing and able to work variable shifts, Swing or Graveyard, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Summary

Provides technical and operational support of ticket redemption machines, automated teller machines

(ATM), automated check machines (ACM) and other Cage Department machinery.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintains, operates and repairs the ticket redemption machines, automated teller machines (ATM), automated check machines (ACM) and other Cage machinery.
  • Responds immediately to requests for service at the machines.
  • Tests and corrects problems with the hardware of Cage machinery.
  • Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to the Cage Technician Supervisor or the vendor.
  • Provides training to casino team members in proper usage of machinery.
  • Logs and tracks all problems that adversely affect guest service or cause an interruption to service.
  • Maintains history records and related problem documentation for all Cage machines.
  • Makes recommendations through daily reports to Cage management for improvements to existing procedures concerning Cage machines.
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Credit Card Compliance requirements commonly known as PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance by attending training provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management. Signature verification of course attendance will be required.
  • Responsible for following the PCI (Payment Card Industry) Compliance regulations to protect card holder data and adhere to the standards to protect guests’ private card information. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting inappropriate card handling activity, of either customers or by employees, as defined by PCI.
  • Responsible for the enforcement of all applicable regulations, under the code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, as it pertains to this position. This includes, but is not limited to, observing and reporting suspicious activity, of either customers or employees, as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of all applicable regulations under the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 31, Chapter X, by attending Title 31/Anti-Money Laundering training, provided by Casino Arizona, at least once a year or more if required by management and outlined in the Title 31 Minimum Internal Controls.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One year certificate in electronics from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training in electronics; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Cash handling experience or previous cashiering experience preferred. 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer hardware and software; troubleshooting knowledge preferred.

Other Qualifications

Must have excellent customer service skills. Must possess basic math skills. Must present a well-groomed appearance and be able to work harmoniously with co-workers and management personnel.

Language Skills

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, secondary smoke and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
