FP&A Analyst – Healthcare
TalentSource360 is assisting another client in the healthcare industry with a critical hire in their Finance department. We are seeking a rising FP&A Analyst to an established healthcare organization. This role will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience within the hospital or broader healthcare industry and possess a strong understanding of healthcare pricing, reimbursement models, and financial performance metrics.
Compensation: 100,000-110,000
Location: Remote schedule (working with Central VA based team)
The ideal candidate will live within 2-3 hours of central Virginia for the purpose of periodic team meetings.
This position will partner closely with finance leadership and operational stakeholders to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making, improve financial performance, and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities across multiple departments and service lines
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to analyze revenue, expenses, labor costs, and operational performance
- Analyze monthly financial results and variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership and operational teams
- Assist with long-range financial planning and strategic analysis initiatives
- Partner with department leaders to evaluate financial performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvement
- Conduct healthcare pricing and reimbursement analysis, including payer contracts, service line profitability, and rate modeling
- Monitor key healthcare financial metrics including patient volumes, reimbursement trends, labor utilization, and operating margins
- Support month-end close activities through accrual analysis, reporting, and variance explanations
- Improve existing financial reporting processes and assist with implementation of process enhancements and automation initiatives
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across reporting systems and models
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- 3 years of FP&A, financial analysis, or healthcare finance experience within a hospital, health system, physician group, or healthcare services organization
- Strong experience with budgeting and forecasting processes required
- Experience with healthcare pricing, reimbursement analysis, managed care contracts, or revenue cycle analytics strongly preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, budgeting tools, and healthcare financial systems preferred
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate financial information effectively to both finance and operational stakeholders
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with healthcare KPIs, service line reporting, and operational analytics
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required
- Experience with tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Workday, Oracle, Hyperion, or similar financial systems
