As a Senior Process Engineer, you will serve as a pivotal technical bridge between R&D, process engineering, and manufacturing, supporting new product innovation, seamless scale-up, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical transfer of both internal and customer-owned formulas from laboratory to production scale.
- Serve as the primary liaison between formulation chemists, process engineering, and manufacturing teams.
- Provide on-site support during pilot batches and scale-up trials, troubleshooting scalability and process challenges.
- Collaborate with compounding and production to resolve issues in raw material incorporation, emulsification, and process optimization.
- Deliver expert technical support for ongoing formulation troubleshooting and recommend alternate raw materials for cost or performance improvements.
- Conduct targeted research to advance the innovation roadmap, evaluating novel processing methods and ingredients.
- Develop guidelines and best practices based on research outcomes for broad R&D adoption.
- Partner with QA, Regulatory, Marketing, Operations, and external suppliers to ensure technical advancements and regulatory compliance.
Must-Have Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory equipment, safe chemical handling, and common laboratory techniques.
- Proven expertise in formulation development and process scale-up in personal care or cosmetics manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations and cGMP standards.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present technical findings clearly.
- Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in cosmetic R&D, formulation, or process support.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Technical background in emulsion chemistry, pigment dispersion, and mineral actives.
- Experience with lab-scale processing equipment.
- Demonstrated success in technical transfer and scale-up in a GMP manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with global cosmetics and regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in interpreting analytical data and managing concurrent project timelines.
