About the Manufacturing Company / The Opportunity:
Join a cutting-edge manufacturing company driving operational excellence through advanced manufacturing information systems. This is an exciting opportunity to play a mission-critical role as the operational bridge between the MIS/IT function and core production processes. You will have a direct impact on boosting plant scheduling performance, supporting a successful SAP Business One ERP go-live, and driving continuous improvement for both system integrity and shop floor execution.
Responsibilities:
- Function as a core liaison between HQ planners and plant supervisors to ensure realistic production scheduling aligned with actual manufacturing constraints.
- Configure and support LYNQ APS for finite production scheduling, modeling constraints such as machines, labor, shifts, downtime, and material availability.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the integration between SAP Business One ERP and LYNQ MES/APS platforms, ensuring accuracy and timely data flow.
- Monitor and drive improvement of planned versus actual production outcomes to strengthen schedule stability, lead time accuracy, and OTIF (On-Time In Full) delivery.
- Support and improve MES shop floor execution tools—terminals, scanners, and labels—to ensure precise data capture and boost user adoption.
- Lead user training, support critical validation/testing cycles (UAT/EUT), and guide post-go-live stabilization, including deep root-cause analysis.
- Identify, resolve, and prevent issues causing unstable schedules or data integrity challenges across manufacturing systems.
- Enhance data quality for BOM, routing, capacity, and inventory; identify bottlenecks and implement solutions for scheduling efficiency.
Must-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- 5 years’ experience supporting discrete manufacturing systems within a plant environment.
- 3 years’ hands-on expertise with LYNQ MES/APS (or comparable shop floor execution/scheduling solutions) and SAP Business One or similar ERP (SQL-based).
- Deep knowledge of finite capacity scheduling, multi-level BOMs/routings, and manufacturing order execution.
- Strong skills in SQL and Excel for advanced data troubleshooting and systems support.
- Proven track record bridging system logic with physical shop floor constraints and operations feedback.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience specifically in the plastics manufacturing sector.
- Background in supporting ERP-to-MES integrations and data interface projects.
- Direct involvement with manufacturing process improvement initiatives or change management.
- Strong training and documentation abilities for end users and operational teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically to an Ohio plant location as needed.
