As Senior Commissioning Manager, you’ll influence delivery standards, mentor technical teams, and ensure excellence at every stage of large-scale infrastructure projects, all while acting as a key client partner and subject matter expert.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee technical scope delivery for multiple concurrent commissioning projects, serving as the senior escalation point for complex engineering challenges.
- Lead commissioning planning and execution for large-scale or technically complex projects, including resource allocation and schedule development.
- Drive technical decision-making aligned with contract requirements, customer expectations, and organizational standards.
- Establish, enforce, and continuously improve commissioning quality standards, templates, and playbooks.
- Manage and execute FAT/SAT programs and test plan development across the portfolio to ensure methodological consistency and quality.
- Build and sustain client partnerships through technical advisory at executive and engineering levels.
- Mentor and develop commissioning team members, sharing technical expertise and supporting ongoing professional growth.
- Partner with Project Managers and senior leadership on portfolio scheduling, risk management, and governance, contributing to business development efforts where required.
Must-Have Skills:
- Deep expertise in commissioning processes, systems integration, and MEP infrastructure for large-scale or mission-critical construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical field experience.
- 10 years of technical experience, including 8 years focused on commissioning in data center or critical facilities environments.
- Experience leading multi-project commissioning programs and managing senior client relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to varied audiences.
- Strong coaching, mentorship, and team development skills.
- PMP, CxA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Sound problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with a commitment to quality, safety, and accountability.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Background in industrial automation, systems integration, or commissioning for data centers and critical infrastructure.
- Experience developing commissioning standards, internal training, or organizational playbooks.
- Familiarity with industry platforms such as CX Alloy, BIM 360, or similar commissioning documentation tools.
- Advanced proficiency in managing priorities, de-escalating complex technical or client conflicts, and supporting business development activities.
- Commitment to lifelong learning and adaptability in a dynamic project environment.
