Director of Royalty Models and Operations
Our client is seeking a Director of Royalty Models and Operations to lead the design, evolution, and execution of royalty distribution models across a broad portfolio of licenses, including emerging and enhanced licensing models related to AI use.
This role is responsible for overseeing data collection, analysis, and distribution methodologies, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and scalability.
The Director will partner closely with internal teams and external experts, while serving as a key communicator on royalty-related matters to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and continuously evolve collective license repertory distribution models, including models supporting new and emerging use cases
• Oversee data collection, sampling, and analytical processes supporting all royalty distribution frameworks
• Lead the design, development, and enhancement of distribution systems, tools, and operational processes
• Develop and manage survey methodologies and mechanisms to support repertory products
• Select, hire, and manage external economic and analytical consultants providing specialized expertise
• Communicate complex royalty payment concepts clearly to both internal teams and external stakeholders
• Manage operational priorities, workflows, and resources to ensure distribution objectives and timelines are met
• Directly and indirectly lead teams responsible for calculating and processing royalty payments
• Provide strategic leadership while adapting to evolving business priorities and regulatory considerations
Qualifications & Experience
• Required: MBA or Master’s degree in an analytical or quantitative field, or equivalent professional experience
• Strong analytical, modeling, and forecasting capabilities with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to varied audiences
• Proven leadership experience, including managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders (remote team management preferred)
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic vision and tactical execution
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Creative, adaptable problem solver comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving environment
