Position Overview
The Staff Accountant supports daily and monthly financial operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and assisting in various accounting functions. This role requires a solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, strong analytical skills, and the ability to balance independent work with collaboration across departments.
Primary ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and report preparation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Accounts Receivable & Payables
- Manage customer invoicing, payment tracking, and collections efforts to maintain proper cash flow.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable, ensuring invoices and payments are processed efficiently.
Cash & Treasury
- Complete and review bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain and update weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Record and reconcile corporate credit card transactions.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts, providing financial data and variance analysis.
- Assist with cost tracking and financial performance reviews.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Support the preparation and filing of local, state, and federal tax documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors by compiling documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Continuous Improvement & Projects
- Identify and help implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Participate in cross-departmental or ad-hoc financial projects as assigned by leadership.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting software (Epicor or similar systems preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).

- Valid forklift (hi-lo) license required or willingness to obtain one.
- Noise level in certain areas may be high; appropriate PPE is provided and required.
