What You’ll Do
Automation & Controls Engineering
- Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and control systems
- Modify and create programs for conveyor systems to improve flow and efficiency
- Support all electrical/controls downtime and root cause analysis
- Implement upgrades to address PLC and component obsolescence
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead automation projects from concept through installation
- Collaborate with OEMs and vendors on new equipment and system design
- Create CAD layouts for equipment relocations and installs
- Oversee conveyor relocations and new line installations
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and execute improvements to reduce downtime
- Research and integrate new automation technologies
- Optimize system communication and remote access capabilities
Maintenance & Support
- Support maintenance with troubleshooting drives, PLCs, and controls
- Establish preventive maintenance programs for automation systems
- Maintain schematics, control documentation, and system backups
Training & Collaboration
- Train and mentor maintenance team on PLC programming and automation
- Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and Purchasing teams
- Support remote troubleshooting access for equipment vendors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
- 2–5 years of industrial automation / controls experience
- Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with conveyor systems or material handling automation
- CAD experience
- Familiarity with robotics or automated production lines
