Forklift Driver – Warehouse
Location: Kentwood, MI
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift Available
Pay: $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
Forklift Driver
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts and be comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
This position will be responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and staging materials while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting daily warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers while following proper safety procedures.
- Move raw materials, finished products, pallets, and other inventory to designated locations.
- Receive, inspect, and properly put away incoming materials.
- Pick and stage materials for production, shipping, or customer orders.
- Safely stack and organize pallets and materials in designated storage areas.
- Use RF scanners, tablets, or warehouse management systems to track inventory movements.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and material locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with cycle counting as needed.
- Transport materials between warehouse, production, and shipping areas.
- Prepare outbound shipments and stage completed orders for loading.
- Inspect forklifts before use and report mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Perform basic battery charging or propane cylinder changes as required and trained.
- Maintain clear aisles and an organized warehouse environment.
- Follow OSHA, company, and warehouse safety procedures at all times.
- Wear required PPE and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Assist with general warehouse duties when forklift work is not required.
Qualifications
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts preferred.
- Current forklift certification is a plus.
- Warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or shipping/receiving experience preferred.
- Ability to safely maneuver forklifts in tight spaces and around pedestrian traffic.
- Experience using RF scanners or warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
