Our client is a fast-growing aerospace manufacturing company experiencing significant year-over-year expansion. Following its acquisition by a multi-billion-dollar public organization, the business is scaling rapidly and strengthening its accounting function with high-caliber talent.
The Senior Accountant will support core accounting operations, assist with month-end activities, and contribute to accurate financial reporting. This role is hands-on and highly visible, working closely with operations leadership and the Business Unit Controller to ensure strong financial controls, reliable job costing, and a smooth accounting close.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily accounting activities across AP, AR, GL, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial reporting packages.
- Maintain and analyze job costing, WIP, and cost accounting data for manufacturing operations.
- Partner with plant and operations teams to provide meaningful financial insights and support decision-making.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities and help analyze actual vs. planned results.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to strengthen controls and streamline workflows.
- Prepare audit support and documentation for both internal and external auditors.
- Utilize the ERP system to accurately record and monitor manufacturing and job-related activity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace or other highly regulated industry experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, cost accounting principles, job costing, and WIP.
- ERP experience required; manufacturing-specific systems preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams, particularly operations.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
