Temporary HR Generalist
Merced, California
Temporary Assignment | Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $33.43 to $40.68 per hour

Talent Group LLC is seeking a skilled and hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support a valued client in Merced, California. This temporary assignment is covering an employee leave of absence, with the duration to be determined based on business needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys a dynamic role supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, benefits administration, and day-to-day HR operations.
The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
• Support daily Human Resources operations and employee support functions
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires
• Assist with employee relations matters, investigations, and HR compliance
• Support benefits enrollment and administration
• Assist with workers compensation reporting and safety initiatives
• Maintain HR records, files, and employee documentation
• Support policy updates and employee handbook administration
• Coordinate training programs and workplace safety courses
• Assist with payroll-related tasks and benefits meetings as needed
• Partner with leadership and community resources on recruiting efforts and job postings
• Conduct exit interviews and support reporting needs
• Provide administrative support for HR projects and special initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience required
• Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience in employee relations, benefits administration, onboarding, and compliance
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• PHR or SPHR certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
• Ability to walk, stoop, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds as needed
• Ability to sit for extended periods during scheduled working hours
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance required
Schedule & Benefits
• Full-time schedule, approximately 40 hours per week
• Temporary assignment with duration based on employee leave coverage
