About the Role
The Terminal Operator is responsible for the hands-on operation of terminal equipment, assisting with material handling, and supporting daily terminal operations. The role includes operating mobile equipment, maintaining facilities, and ensuring all activities comply with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate equipment to load/unload rail cars, trucks, and barges.
- Communicate effectively with terminal management, customers, sales personnel, trucking firms, and suppliers.
- Maintain terminal grounds, offices, warehouses, and yards in a clean and organized manner.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance and perform general equipment upkeep.
- Conduct material handling tasks including bulk and bagged products, using appropriate transportation methods.
- Demonstrate a commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned by terminal management.
Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Work Experience:
- 1–3 years in terminal operations or similar environment
Technical Skills:
- Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft programs and SAP preferred
Additional Requirements:
- High mechanical aptitude and ability
- Mechanical background and welding experience desirable
- Knowledge of cement, construction industry, and integrated computer systems is an asset
- Adherence to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved PPE, including respirators where required (clean-shaven for seal fit)
