About the Role
The Operations Manager – AGG is responsible for overseeing all aspects of operations in a defined market and product line. The position focuses on maximizing productivity, operational efficiency, customer service, and employee engagement while maintaining a positive and safe work environment. The role requires collaboration with General Management and support teams to execute regional strategies and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the General Manager and support teams to set objectives and long-term regional goals.
- Translate high-level objectives into measurable operational goals.
- Guide managers to ensure operational execution meets business objectives.
- Support the region in achieving P&L targets by identifying improvements and leveraging resources.
- Participate in the preparation of operating budgets and cost management initiatives.
- Conduct operational reviews to assess cost drivers, monitor volumes, material use, and inventory.
- Develop staffing plans, manage personnel, recruit, and conduct performance appraisals.
- Prioritize workloads, develop employee skills, and coordinate with HR on succession planning.
- Continuously improve operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline processes, and enhance customer service.
- Analyze KPIs to develop operational strategies and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with management to address customer service, union, and fleet-related issues.
- Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies; promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, or 10–15 years of equivalent experience
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree
Field of Study Preferred:
- Operations Management, Business, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
Experience & Skills:
- Strong financial understanding and ability to manage P&L performance
- Excellent leadership and team development skills
- Operational and maintenance mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP
- Frequent travel to company and customer sites in the SOR region
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
