ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment in a constant state of operational readiness. This role performs inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and emergency breakdown support for a wide range of fixed mechanical equipment and production systems.
The position also prepares required daily and weekly department operating reports while ensuring full compliance with safety and environmental standards.
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
- Demonstrate commitment to safety policies and promote a strong safety culture in all work environments.
- Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment according to manufacturer-recommended service intervals and company procedures.
- Maintain inventory of regularly required replacement parts.
- Inspect plant equipment condition and operation; perform necessary repairs and adjustments.
- Report required repairs and operational findings to the Supervisor.
- Perform emergency repairs to address production equipment breakdowns.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and company policies and complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Support continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental practices.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical repair, installation, or construction within heavy industrial environments
Technical & Functional Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and general plant maintenance experience
- Experience with screen changes, welding, cutting torch operations, and hand tools
- Stick welding, arc welding, and light fabrication (preferred)
- Experience operating skid-steer or man-lift equipment (preferred)
- Basic computer skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators where required.
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to successfully pass qualitative and quantitative fit testing.
