About the Role
One of our clients is seeking an Electrical Mechanic to support quarry operations in Millville, WV. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of fixed electrical and mechanical equipment, systems, and machinery.
The position includes inspecting facilities, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting faulty wiring, conducting high-voltage switching, operating generators, and ensuring all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and components on quarry equipment such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, and motors
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations
- Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on high-voltage and low-voltage systems
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and safety regulations
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and all safety protocols during maintenance activities
- Assist with installation and upgrades of electrical equipment and plant automation systems (e.g., PLCs, control panels)
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and parts usage
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred:
- Journeyman Electrician certification (West Virginia preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of electrical maintenance experience in construction, building materials, manufacturing, or industrial environments
- Experience working with 480V or higher electrical systems
- Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve electrical issues
- Experience interpreting electrical diagrams and wiring schematics
- Proactive approach to preventive maintenance
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to work in outdoor, rugged, or dusty quarry environments
- Must be able to lift, climb, crouch, and work at heights or in confined spaces
