Job Overview
JD Audio & Video Design Inc. is seeking an experienced Lead CCTV / Access Control Technician to support high-end residential and commercial security installations across the New York / New Jersey tri-state area. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and service of CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, and capable of leading installations independently while coordinating closely with Project Managers and Field Supervisors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, service, and troubleshoot CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems
- Route and install low-voltage cabling, including conduit bending for new construction and retrofit projects
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and floor plans to guide system layout and installation
- Program systems including camera configurations, card readers, alarm points, and system integrations
- Test and verify system functionality to ensure optimal performance and compliance
- Communicate project progress, technical issues, and completion status to Project Managers and Supervisors
- Complete daily reports using company project management and documentation software
- Maintain tools, inventory, and ensure work vehicles are prepared for daily assignments
- Provide client training upon project completion and deliver final documentation
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours service support
- Ensure all work meets company quality, safety, and productivity standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training preferred
- OSHA 30 certification required; SST certification preferred
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience installing security systems
- Proven experience with conduit bending, hardware mounting, and system testing
- Strong understanding of CCTV, access control infrastructure, and low-voltage cabling
- Ability to work on ladders and lift up to 35 lbs
- Reliable personal vehicle for commuting and local job site travel
- Strong technical aptitude with excellent documentation and communication skills
- Must pass background check and MVR screening per company policy
- Bi-lingual skills and/or NYC Fire Alarm License are a plus (not required)
