Overview
A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Docket Specialist to join its Washington, DC office on a standard hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
Core Litigation Docketing & Calendar Management
- Manage all duties typically assigned to a Litigation Docketing Clerk or Specialist
- Maintain and update litigation calendars in accordance with state and federal court rules
- Review court orders and filings to determine and calculate calendarable deadlines
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with jurisdiction-specific procedural requirements
Case Expertise & Legal Process Management
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge across diverse case types, including civil, criminal, eminent domain, probate, family, asbestos, and other litigation matters
- Oversee complex legal processes such as writs, judicial sales, undertakings, liens, and bonds
- Manage temporary restraining orders, injunctions, provisional remedies, and creditor-related matters
- Administer sealed cases and vexatious litigation matters with strict adherence to confidentiality protocols
Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of litigation docketing experience
- Large law firm experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree preferred
- Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
- Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and protocols
- Expertise in calculating litigation deadlines and interpreting court orders
- Proficiency in legal citation and terminology
- Advanced experience with CompuLaw Vision or similar calendaring/docketing software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
