Technical Project Manager
Location: Clarksburg, MD, On-Site
Salary: $110,000 – $165,000 per year

The company is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
About the Role
The Technical Project Manager will work closely with engineering, product management, manufacturing, suppliers, customers, and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive complex technical programs aligned with the company's product roadmap.
This is a highly execution-focused role responsible for project planning, scheduling, risk management, resource coordination, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication.
Security Clearance: This position may require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to meet applicable security clearance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource plans, estimates, and status reports.
- Lead project milestone meetings, tollgates, technical reviews, demonstrations, and test events.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering, product, manufacturing, supplier, and customer activities.
- Track project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, and opportunities while developing mitigation plans.
- Manage project delays and adjust schedules, resources, and expectations as needed.
- Develop project communication plans and provide regular updates to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Support development and integration of advanced technologies for government and defense customers.
- Coordinate prototype materials, suppliers, production tooling, and other requirements necessary for product development and launch.
- Develop and maintain project roadmaps, KPIs, metrics, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Support contractual agreements and project deliverables with partners and vendors.
- Ensure projects meet applicable quality standards, compliance requirements, and government contract obligations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 4 years of technical project management experience.
- Experience managing complex engineering or technology development projects from concept through production.
- Experience with Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced product development environment.
- Strong knowledge of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, and risk management.
- Experience coordinating with suppliers on prototype materials, development activities, or production tooling.
- Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Experience with sensors, computing systems, wireless communications, or related technologies is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification.
- Experience using JIRA for project and task management.
- Experience leading technical project tollgates and design reviews, including PDR, CDR, and FDR.
- Experience supporting government customers or defense-related development programs.
- Experience with SBIR or similar government-funded development programs.
- Experience working with Scrum Masters and engineering teams.
