Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat endocrine disorders such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and metabolic conditions.
- Obtain detailed medical histories, perform physical exams, and order relevant diagnostic tests.
- Evaluate lab and diagnostic results to guide treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring continuity of care.
- Educate patients on their conditions and promote self-management strategies.
- Prescribe medications and monitor treatment efficacy.
- Accurately document patient encounters and outcomes in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Lead and supervise clinical team members, including nurses, assistants, and technologists.
- Mentor medical students, physician extenders, and interns during clinical rotations.
- Meet established quality benchmarks mandated by healthcare authorities and payors.
- Build a sustainable patient base to generate revenue for the practice.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Endocrinology.
- Valid NYS medical licensure.
- Post-graduate experience in an ambulatory care setting.
- Strong clinical evaluation and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to lead a team and ensure compliance with established protocols.
