Duties
- Supervise daily store operations, including fuel sales, retail merchandise, and customer service activities
- Lead hiring efforts through interviewing and recruiting qualified team members; provide onboarding and employee orientation
- Manage inventory control, purchasing, pricing strategies, and merchandising to maximize profitability
- Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and shift management
- Train staff on customer service excellence, phone etiquette, sales techniques, and safety protocols
- Monitor store cleanliness, stock levels, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Implement marketing initiatives to boost sales and enhance store visibility within the community
Qualifications
- Proven management experience in retail or convenience store environments with supervising responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills with expertise in inventory management, retail math, and budgeting
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Demonstrated leadership in training & development, team management, and employee motivation
- Knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail sales strategies
- Experience with grocery or convenience store operations including stocking, merchandising, and pricing
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently with good time management skills; previous assistant manager experience is preferred
