Job Title: Teaching AssistantLocation: Cranston, RIJob OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to support classroom instruction in a structured educational setting. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment while assisting teachers with daily instructional and classroom management activities.The ideal candidate is patient, adaptable, and committed to supporting students’ academic progress and overall well-being.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Teaching Assistant reports directly to the Principal and works under the guidance of the Principal or designated supervisor.Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activitiesDistribute, collect, and organize instructional materialsSupport students through one-on-one or small group instructionAssist students with assignments and challenging conceptsProvide support for students requiring special accommodationsWork with students who have special learning needs, including disabilities and English Language Learners (ELL)Ensure student safety, supervision, and well-being at all timesCollaborate with teachers to identify student concerns and recommend solutionsMaintain classroom order and support positive behavior managementAttend staff meetings and required trainingsAdhere to all state, school, and classroom rules and regulationsRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (required)Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate or at least 6 months of related experienceMust successfully pass a background checkStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent organization, planning, and time management skillsAbility to collaborate effectively in a team environmentFlexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced settingAbility to engage and support students in grades 6–12Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitudePreferred QualificationsTraining in classroom activities and instructional practicesExperience working with special needs studentsUnderstanding of pedagogical best practicesKnowledge of core academic subjectsExperience supporting students with diverse learning needs
