About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Engineer for Storage and Data Protection to join a high-impact infrastructure team. This is a senior engineering role (not an admin role) focused on architecture, automation, cyber resiliency, and platform strategy across enterprise on-premises and cloud environments.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and implementation of enterprise storage and data protection solutions across on-prem and cloud
- Own the technical roadmap, standards, and lifecycle strategy for storage and backup platforms
- Drive cyber resiliency engineering: immutable backups, ransomware recovery, DR readiness, and recovery validation
- Build automation using Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
- Support Dell EMC platforms (Isilon/PowerScale, PowerMax) and Brocade SAN fabric
- Manage and evolve Rubrik as the primary enterprise backup platform
- Extend data protection into AWS and GCP environments (FSx for NetApp ONTAP, DDVE, cloud-native patterns)
- Partner with cyber, cloud, application, database, and network teams on cross-functional delivery
- Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and executive-ready materials
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for storage, SAN, backup, replication, and performance issues
What You Bring
- 10 years of infrastructure engineering, with 5 years hands-on in enterprise storage and/or data protection
- Deep experience with Dell EMC storage (Isilon, PowerScale, PowerMax) and Brocade SAN
- Strong Rubrik expertise — policy design, recovery workflows, platform management
- Hands-on automation experience: Ansible, Terraform, REST APIs, Git, CI/CD
- AWS and/or GCP storage and backup experience
- Cyber resiliency mindset: ransomware recovery, immutable backup, compliance
