What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Lead position at Synergy Business Consulting, Inc.?
- Accounts Payable OperationsOversee the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, and payment processing
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, credit memos, and employee reimbursements
- Manage weekly payment runs (ACH, wire, and check) and maintain payment schedules
- Vendor ManagementMaintain vendor records, including W-9s and payment terms
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to support efficient operations
- Team LeadershipProvide guidance, training, and support to AP staff
- Review work for accuracy and adherence to internal policies
- Assist in setting priorities and monitoring team performance
- Financial Controls & ComplianceEnsure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor requests
- Process ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Support automation initiatives and system enhancements (ERP/AP systems)
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures
- Reporting & AnalysisPrepare AP aging reports and assist with cash flow planning
- Monitor outstanding liabilities and ensure proper tracking
- Provide reporting and insights to Accounting leadership as needed
Qualification
- sEducation & ExperienceAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferre
- d3–5 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory rol
- eExperience in agriculture, manufacturing, or food production environments is a plu
- sSkills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounts payable principles and best practice
- sExperience with ERP systems- QUICKBOOKS, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
