Responsibilities
- The Paralegal will assist with both criminal and family law matters, including:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, affidavits, proposed orders, and other litigation documents.
- Preparing and organizing documents for filing in Georgia courts.
- Assisting with discovery requests and responses.
- Preparing case files and exhibits for hearings and trials.
- Reviewing court dockets, pleadings, discovery, and case documents.
- Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties.
- Monitoring court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other important case deadlines.
- Assisting attorneys with preparation for hearings, motions, mediations, and trials.
- Providing general litigation and case-management support to attorneys.
- Applicants must currently reside in Georgia and within the Atlanta metropolitan area.
- The successful candidate should:
- Have paralegal or substantial legal-assistant experience.
- Be comfortable working with Georgia criminal and/or family law cases.
- Have strong legal drafting skills and be capable of preparing litigation pleadings with limited supervision.
- Understand basic Georgia court procedures and litigation practices.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be highly organized and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and remain calm under pressure.
- Be dependable, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced law firm environment.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Prior Georgia criminal defense or family law experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in both criminal defense and family law is ideal.
- Hands-on experience drafting motions, discovery, complaints, answers, domestic-relations pleadings, or criminal-defense filings is highly valued.
Salary : $25 - $30
