The role focuses on medical malpractice and civil litigation, supporting attorneys on complex, high stakes trial matters.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support attorneys through all phases of medical malpractice and civil litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
- Draft, format, organize, file, and manage pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents while ensuring court rule compliance and deadlines.
- Review, organize, summarize, and manage medical records and large volumes of case materials; conduct legal research using relevant databases, statutes, case law, and rules.
- Request records of all categories through subpoenas and authorizations; maintain case files and coordinate with clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel.
- Prepare trial notebooks and exhibits and provide clear, professional communication while supporting case strategy and hearings.
- 4 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in medical malpractice or personal injury litigation.
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal, legal studies, or related field preferred/required as applicable.
- Strong experience with legal document preparation, discovery, pleadings, motions, filing procedures, and deadline management.
- Strong legal research, document review, medical records analysis, organization, and case management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, confidentiality, teamwork, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced environment; proficiency with practice management, word processing, and electronic filing systems.
