Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive support to attorneys in all phases of medical malpractice and related civil litigation. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting and organizing pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, assisting with legal research, and reviewing and summarizing medical records and other case materials. The role also involves maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, coordinating with clients, experts, and court personnel, and preparing trial notebooks and exhibits. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Hendersonville, TN, requiring consistent in-office presence to support trial preparation, hearings, and case strategy meetings.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in legal document preparation, including drafting and formatting pleadings and motions.
- Candidates should possess skills in document review, including organizing, summarizing, and managing large volumes of case materials.
- Candidates should possess skills in legal research, including use of legal databases and application of statutes, case law, and rules to ongoing matters.
- Candidates should possess skills related to pleadings and motions, including filing procedures, compliance with court rules, and deadline management.
- Ability to request records of all categories via subpoena and authorization.
- Ability to communicate strongly and clearly with clients, the team, vendors, and anyone else outside of the organization.
- Paralegal certificate or degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field required.
- 4 years of previous experience as a litigation paralegal, ideally in medical malpractice or personal injury matters is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software, word processing tools, and electronic filing systems.
