Our client, a growing surveying firm, is seeking a motivated Land Surveyor / Survey Technician to join its team in Mamaroneck, NY. - Perform general land surveying fieldwork independently or as part of a team when needed.
- Conduct boundary, topographic, and small layout surveys.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including robotic total stations.
- Perform CAD drafting and prepare survey drawings.
- Download and process field data.
- Conduct deed research, map research, and subdivision plotting.
- Interpret deeds, maps, and survey documents.
- Assist with office-based surveying tasks, including filing, documentation, and project support.
- Work effectively in both field and office environments (approximately 70% office / 30% field).
- Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout all surveying activities.
- This position offers hands-on exposure to all aspects of the surveying profession and is well suited for someone interested in professional growth and pursuing licensure.
- Prior experience in land surveying and mapping required.
- Experience with CAD drafting and survey documentation preferred.
- Familiarity with robotic total stations preferred.
- Knowledge of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and layout procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage field assignments.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the profession.
- Valid driver's license in good standing required.
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Experience with land surveying procedures, CAD drafting, deed research, boundary plotting, and survey mapping.
- Ability to walk long distances, remain on feet for extended periods, and navigate outdoor environments, including uneven terrain and obstacles.
