Our challenge
We are seeking a hands-on Lead GenAI Agentic AI Engineer to lead the design and development of intelligent, enterprise-grade AI agents. Using Google ADK, LangChain, and LangGraph, will create advanced LLM applications that seamlessly interact with multiple Systems of Record (SoRs) through robust data pipelines and integrations. This role involves owning the entire lifecycle—from designing agent workflows and enterprise data integration to deploying scalable, production-ready solutions with strong observability, governance, and performance optimization.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Agentic AI systems leveraging Google ADK, LangChain, and LangGraph, including multi-agent orchestration, state management, and tool integration with enterprise-approved LLMs.
- Build reliable data pipelines, APIs, and connectors to integrate agents with enterprise SoRs across both structured and unstructured data sources.
- Integrate organization-approved foundation models (such as Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc.) into agent workflows for various tasks.
- Collaborate with Process Excellence and Operations teams to brainstorm and implement AI copilots and AI agents for diverse business functions.
- Develop scalable Python-based services to support agent workflows, incorporating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), tool calling, memory, and structured outputs.
- Engineer data ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch and streaming) to enable high-quality, governed data access for AI agents.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for analytics, feature extraction, and real-time decisioning in AI workflows.
- Implement observability, evaluation, and governance guardrails across data and AI layers to ensure system performance, quality, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Requirements:
- Experience in Generative AI, AI Data Engineering, or Agentic AI-focused roles.
- Expertise in Prompt Engineering, Context Engineering, and Python development.
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI solutions using Google ADK, LangChain, and LangGraph, including orchestration and tool usage patterns.
- Strong Python development skills for backend services, workflow engines, and AI pipelines.
- Solid data engineering expertise including: Building ETL/ELT pipelines, integrating data from multiple SoRs (APIs, databases, files, streams), Managing data quality, schema evolution, and lineage
- Advanced SQL proficiency (complex joins, window functions, query optimization).
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures and connecting LLMs with enterprise data sources such as vector stores and relational databases.
- Production-grade engineering practices: testing, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, and error handling.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Apache Airflow, Kafka, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with vector databases and hybrid retrieval strategies.
- Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on GCP (preferred) or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and PII handling in AI/data pipelines.
- Exposure to LLMOps frameworks (evaluation, prompt/version management, tracing, cost optimization).
- Experience implementing guardrails and safety controls for enterprise AI agents.
