Our client is seeking a Freelance Content Strategist to lead the development of a new, entertainment-focused YouTube content strategy. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape the vision, content approach, and long-term roadmap for a brand-new digital channel from the ground up.
Remote | July–September 2026 | Freelance/Contract
This is a strategy-first engagement where you will define the channel's positioning, programming strategy, audience approach, and measurement framework while delivering recommendations that will guide its first year of content.
What You'll Do
• Develop the overall channel strategy, including positioning, tone of voice, and how it fits within the broader content ecosystem
• Build a 12-month programming roadmap, including content pillars, format recommendations, publishing cadence, and launch strategy
• Create a Year 1 KPI framework aligned with brand awareness, audience growth, engagement, and business objectives
• Conduct audience, competitive, and best-practice research to support strategic recommendations
• Present clear, compelling strategy decks that drive stakeholder alignment and buy-in
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
• 8–12 years of experience in content, brand, or digital strategy
• Experience developing content strategies for YouTube, creator-led, entertainment, or digital-first brands (experience building a channel from the ground up is highly preferred)
• OR exceptional content strategy experience with outstanding research, synthesis, and strategic storytelling skills
• Strong strategic writing and presentation development abilities
• Experience working independently and delivering high-quality strategic work on tight timelines
Nice to Have
• YouTube channel strategy or audience development experience
• Creator economy, entertainment, media, or digital publishing background
• Deep understanding of YouTube, Shorts, long-form content, and platform best practices
• Experience conducting stakeholder interviews and synthesizing qualitative research into actionable recommendations
