We are seeking motivated and community-minded individuals to join our team as Seasonal Tax Service Associates. This role offers the opportunity to combine tax expertise with meaningful client engagement, supporting individuals and families through the often-challenging tax process. As a trusted advisor, you will help clients maximize outcomes, reduce stress, and gain confidence in their financial decisions.
This is a seasonal position that requires on-site presence at one of our local offices within the United States, with opportunities to also serve clients virtually.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert tax preparation and advice for a wide range of client scenarios, from straightforward returns to more complex cases involving business income, life events, or investments.
- Conduct client discovery sessions to identify deductions, optimize refunds, and offer tax planning strategies for future financial goals.
- Engage with the community to build lasting client relationships through proactive outreach, participation in local events, and educational activities.
- Represent the organization in both local and virtual settings, delivering approachable explanations of tax concepts and tools.
- Deliver an exceptional client experience through professionalism, empathy, and effective problem-solving, ensuring clients feel supported and informed throughout the process.
- Utilize advanced communication tools and professional tax software to meet client needs both in-person and online.
Requirements
- Valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
- Minimum of 2 years of paid experience preparing at least 30 individual federal and state tax returns per season using professional tax software.
- Familiarity with applicable tax regulations and compliance guidelines.
- Availability to work a consistent weekly schedule (minimum of 24 hours per week) at a designated office location.
- Must reside within the United States.
- Ability to obtain any required state licenses, permits, or bonds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish or other languages).
- Experience providing holistic financial or tax advisory services beyond filing returns.
- Strong interest in community engagement, including creating educational content, participating in events, or building an online professional presence.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
