Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Urgent Care Advanced Practitioner to join our dynamic clinical team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care for patients presenting with acute episodic conditions such as colds, flu-like symptoms, sore throats, minor infections, cuts, sprains, and other urgent medical needs. Working independently or alongside physicians, you will play a key role in assessing patients, recognizing serious conditions, and ensuring timely referrals for advanced care when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient examinations and provide treatment for urgent medical conditions
- Take detailed medical histories and assess patient symptoms
- Order, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests and imaging
- Make accurate diagnoses and prescribe medications as appropriate
- Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting
- Document patient progress and follow-up care in medical records
- Educate and counsel patients on treatment plans, preventive care, and wellness
- Administer vaccinations and refer patients to specialized care when necessary
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements:
Education:
- Physician Assistants: Bachelor’s degree required
- Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree required
Experience:
- 2–5 years of post-residency clinical experience
- Minimum 18 months in an applicable practice setting
- Adult and pediatric care experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- National Certification relevant to role
- Active state medical licensure
Skills and Abilities:
- Prior experience in urgent care or emergency room settings
- Proficiency in office procedures such as suturing and splinting
- Strong attention to detail, listening, and communication skills
- Commitment to delivering excellent patient experiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centered care in fast-paced environments
