Job Summary
The Associate Clinical Counselor, supervised by licensed clinicians, will provide individual, group, and family therapy to clients navigating complex mental health challenges, trauma, homelessness, and addiction. In this role, you will conduct assessments, create and implement treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions that address the specific needs of underserved populations. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, and social determinants of health impacting this community. You’ll work collaboratively with case managers, healthcare providers, and community resources to ensure holistic, client-centered care. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group clinical mental health counseling to clients.
- Designs and implements clinical intervention programs tailored to client needs.
- Conducts assessments and observations to evaluate client eligibility for counseling services.
- Engages in special assessments, individual therapy planning, and relevant meetings.
- Completes clinical documentation to support counseling services provided to clients.
- Refers clients to additional public or private counseling resources as appropriate.
- Supports and oversees mental health therapy services provided by other staff and/or interns.
- Participates in individual and group supervision sessions.
- Provides crisis intervention, assessments, and client triage as required.
- Travels to multiple service locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Master’ degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, counseling, or related fields is required.
- Registration as an associate with the Board of Behavioral Sciences is required.
- Valid, unrestricted CA driver’s license.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross preferred.
- Knowledge and proficiency in Google Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar, is preferred.
- Must be comfortable working in a transitional housing environment.
- Must successfully pass a background check.
Salary : $35 - $37
