Swoon is actively seeking a Middleware Engineering Manager to join the team!
What your day-to-day look like?
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of middleware and messaging platforms across production, development, and test environments.
- Manage and mentor a technical team responsible for application integration, system design, and third-party middleware solutions.
- Oversee automation and CI/CD initiatives using tools such as Jenkins and Ansible to improve deployment efficiency and system reliability.
- Monitor, tune, and optimize middleware performance while ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Direct the resolution of complex configuration and production issues, providing escalation support and ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Establish security standards, documentation, and best practices while advising leadership on emerging technologies and platform improvements.

- Proven ability to think critically, work independently, manage competing priorities, and perform effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Strong leadership presence with demonstrated confidence, decision-making ability, and experience managing technical teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business stakeholders.
- Hands-on expertise in systems administration, change management, J2EE services, and message-oriented middleware technologies.
- Advanced technical proficiency in cloud-native platforms, microservices, CI/CD tools, scripting, networking, and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP).
- In-depth knowledge of security and encryption technologies (SSL/TLS, PKI) and software security controls, supported by 7 years of relevant experience.

Salary - $140,000 -$165,000 plus 15% annual bonus
