Electrical Manufacturing Engineer
📍 Kalamazoo, MI
We’re partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to add an Electrical Manufacturing Engineer to their team. This role plays a key part in supporting a highly automated production environment, driving equipment reliability, and improving overall process performance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide day-to-day technical support to both operations and maintenance teams
- Troubleshoot and optimize automated equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, and robotics
- Lead and support process improvement and reliability initiatives across the plant
- Take ownership of smaller engineering projects from concept through implementation (hands-on involvement required)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and maintenance teams
- Analyze process data to identify issues, implement solutions, and track results
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including Lean/Six Sigma initiatives
- Support plant safety programs and ensure compliance with standards
- Mentor team members and help elevate overall technical knowledge within the plant
- Maintain clear documentation of engineering work and process changes
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix), HMIs, and drives
- Robotics experience (Fanuc preferred)
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex equipment and systems
- Experience working with automated systems and industrial controls
- Solid analytical skills with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions
- Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and on a team
Nice to have:
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Exposure to industrial networking
- Background in continuous improvement methodologies
