🌟 Position Summary
A leading client in the Utilities industry, partnered with Swoon, is seeking a highly experienced Agile Program Manager / Agile Coach to support and drive enterprise-level Agile Transformation initiatives within their IT organization. This is a Direct Hire role with high visibility across senior leadership and the executive team.
The ideal candidate is a polished Agile leader with strong program management experience, deep knowledge of Lean/Agile frameworks, and a proven ability to coach Directors, VPs, and C-Level executives within highly regulated environments.
This role plays a key part in evolving organizational culture, improving delivery efficiency, and ensuring strategic alignment across technology programs.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Agile Coaching & Continuous Improvement
- Provide enterprise-level Agile coaching to teams, leaders, and executives.
- Conduct Agile maturity assessments and develop coaching roadmaps.
- Lead workshops, training sessions, and Communities of Practice.
- Drive Lean thinking and Waste Elimination initiatives across teams.
- Introduce and optimize Agile flow metrics (cycle time, throughput, flow efficiency).
Program & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead large-scale IT programs ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Implement Lean Portfolio Management practices to enable value-based prioritization.
- Manage interdependencies, risks, capacity, and delivery plans.
- Ensure consistent governance, reporting, and KPI tracking across initiatives.
- Develop executive-ready presentations and data-driven insights.
Executive Coaching & Influence
- Partner directly with Directors, VPs, and C-Level executives to support Agile adoption.
- Facilitate strategic planning and remove systemic impediments.
- Influence decision-making in environments with complex regulatory and operational constraints.
- Champion cultural transformation and continuous learning.
🧩 Minimum Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Program Management or Agile Leadership.
- 5 years as an Agile Coach, with enterprise transformation experience.
- Strong background working in highly regulated environments (Utilities, Energy, Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, Government, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience coaching senior leaders and C-Level executives.
- Proficiency with Agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean.
- Experience with Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) and program governance.
- Strong command of Agile metrics and KPI reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
⭐ Preferred Skills
- Certifications such as SAFe Agilist, SPC, PMP, or similar.
- Experience using PPM tools (Planisware, Clarity, Jira Align, etc.).
- Strong facilitator, communicator, and influencer.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in large organizations.
- Experience leading cultural and organizational change.
🌍 Work Environment
- Must be local to the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days onsite per week depending on workshops or leadership engagement.
- Occasional travel to nearby offices as needed.
💲 Compensation
Yearly Base Salary: $122,000.00 (Negotiable based on experience and internal equity)
