What are the responsibilities and job description for the Level IV Field Technician position at Swoon Staffing?
We’re hiring Level IV field technicians to support telecom infrastructure and central office work across Colorado. This is a long-term, project-driven contract where you’ll operate independently, handle advanced power and equipment work, and support installations, upgrades, maintenance, and turn-ups in live network environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform installations, additions/removals/changes, upgrades, and maintenance for telecom infrastructure projects
- Execute equipment testing, turn-up, troubleshooting, swaps, rack/stack, cabling, and remote “smart hands” support
- Install and maintain central office equipment and infrastructure (iron work, AC, transport equipment, and related systems); occasional outside plant work
- Work with DC Power systems, including Primary Power and Secondary Power systems
- Create and present Method of Procedure (MOP) documentation for customer approval
- Coordinate power cuts with customers within defined maintenance windows
- Stage equipment/materials and verify inventory accuracy
- Maintain assigned tools and ensure calibration is current
- Submit ECR/Red Line documentation for changes impacting work items/specs
- Complete QA checks; verify completeness of wiring and installation accuracy
- Interface with customer/end-user contacts and coordinate with other vendors as needed
- Participate in project planning/progress meetings (with or without customer presence)
- Promote and comply with Environmental, Health & Safety policies and telecom standards
- Support other construction/telecom duties as needed when project work fluctuates (ground support, prep, warehouse support, equipment maintenance, etc.)
Qualifications
Required
- Level IV capability: advanced field experience; able to work independently with minimal supervision
- 6 years telecom or related infrastructure experience/training
- DC Power experience required, including Primary and Secondary power systems
- Strong “smart hands” skillset (rack/stack, swaps, troubleshooting, cabling, remote support)
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred
- Vocational/Technical school
Per Diem: $60/day when working outside home market
Salary : $30 - $39
