PG&E Academy is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to support the Power Generation business line. This role will lead the design and development of apprenticeship training programs, driving workforce development, ensuring compliance with operational standards, and aligning with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design and development of technical apprenticeship training programs for Power Generation trades
- Conduct needs assessments and front-end analysis (FEA) to identify training needs and recommend solutions
- Collaborate with learning strategists and designers to define curriculum, learning strategies, and assessments
- Guide use of learning technologies and tools to enhance training effectiveness
- Coach and mentor Instructional Designers; ensure adherence to ADDIE model and quality standards
- Perform QA reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables
- Develop project schedules, estimates, and manage execution within scope, time, and budget
- Facilitate key meetings including kick-offs, beta sessions, train-the-trainer sessions, and pilots
- Present proposals and updates to stakeholders and apprenticeship committees
- Track training effectiveness metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage course archiving and project close-out activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of instructional design experience, including 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role
- Strong experience designing training for classroom and skilled trades environments
- Experience developing multi-year technical training programs
- Proven ability to manage small to mid-sized projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, Articulate Storyline, video production, and web design tools
