We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll Analyst to join our team. They will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant regulations, and providing support for various payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
What Winning Looks Like
- Process Payroll: Ensure accurate payroll for all employees, including deductions and hours worked.
- Tax Compliance: Manage tax withholdings, filings, and prepare W-2s and 1099s.
- Timekeeping: Review timecards and resolve discrepancies.
- Benefit Deductions: Process deductions for benefits and handle legal withholdings.
- Reporting: Prepare payroll reports and assist with reconciliations.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure payroll follows regulations and compliance for assigned stores, assists with audits.
- Employee Support: Address payroll-related questions and resolve issues.
- System Maintenance: Keep payroll systems updated and efficient.
- Collaborate: Partner effectively with HR, IT, Accounting, and other functions to ensure an appropriate flow of data and reporting.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with employees with respect to Payroll, Time & Attendance, Pay Plans, tax withholdings, and other topics as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrating a high “HQ” (Hospitality Quotient) consisting of kindness & optimism, intellectual curiosity, work ethic, empathy, self-awareness, and integrity
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business: Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related field. Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while working with large amounts of data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Paylocity HRIS experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Sitting: The majority of the workday is spent sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
- Standing and Walking: There may be times when the Payroll Analyst needs to stand, walk around the office, or attend meetings.
- Reaching and Bending: The specialist may need to reach for files, supplies, or equipment.
- Lifting: Ability to lift or move documents, supplies, or equipment up to 20 pounds.
