Detail Technician

Bellingham, WA | Audi | Volkswagen | Luxury European brand | Hospitality | Auto detailing | 2 years experience preferred | Pacific Northwest | Whatcom County | Northern Washington | Veterans encouraged to apply | $21 - $25/hr flat rate

IS THIS YOU?

• You do detail work thoroughly and to a consistent standard -- you notice what others miss, you don't cut corners on the last step, and your finished product looks the same at the end of the day as it did at the beginning
• You're ready to bring that standard to a dual-brand European store in Bellingham where the Audis and Volkswagens you detail go back to guests who notice the difference

Who We Are

Audi Volkswagen of Bellingham is part of Swickard Auto Group, a hospitality company in the retail automotive space built on one idea -- be the favorite of our guests, our employees, and our manufacturing partners. We operate 40 dealerships across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii, and whether you're in Bellingham or Anchorage, the standard is the same. Do right by people, every time.

What You'll Do

• Perform thorough interior and exterior detail work on new, pre-owned, and service vehicles -- hand washes, clay bar treatment, paint decontamination, interior deep cleaning, leather conditioning, and surface protection as required
• Prepare new vehicle deliveries -- ensuring every Audi and Volkswagen is spotless, correctly staged, and presentation-ready before it reaches the guest
• Recondition pre-owned and trade-in vehicles -- bringing interiors and exteriors to frontline-ready condition efficiently and accurately
• Perform post-service vehicle cleaning -- returning service guests' vehicles clean and presentable after every visit
• Move vehicles carefully between the detail bay, service lane, and lot as directed
• Inspect vehicles during the detail process and flag any paint, interior, or body concerns to the appropriate team member immediately
• Maintain the detail bay clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of automotive detailing experience preferred -- candidates with comparable experience from auto body, recon, car wash, or other hands-on vehicle preparation backgrounds encouraged to apply
• Consistent and thorough -- European brand guests notice the difference between a good detail and a rushed one
• Self-directed and efficient on flat rate -- detail work rewards technicians who work at a steady, accurate pace without sacrificing quality
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

What We Offer

• $21 - $25/hr flat rate -- your throughput and accuracy drive your earnings directly
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• A clear path forward -- detail technicians who perform well at Swickard grow into recon, porter, and service support roles
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts

WHY AUDI VOLKSWAGEN OF BELLINGHAM

• Two European brands under one roof -- Audi and Volkswagen -- means varied detail work across distinct vehicle platforms and consistent throughput that keeps flat-rate earnings steady
• Bellingham's close-knit Whatcom County community means guests who know the store and return to it -- the detail technician whose work shows up in every vehicle return contributes directly to the loyalty that keeps them coming back

• Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- apply to the care put into every vehicle just as much as every guest interaction
