Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
- Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial data and compliance with internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data and provide insights for various projects and business initiatives.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns and ensure adherence to applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators to provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Help develop, maintain, and update accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and industry best practices.
- Prepare audit support schedules and documentation; assist with external and internal audits by responding to information requests.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed to support the finance team and organizational goals.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience; experience in real estate or property management is a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar platforms preferred).
- Solid experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions).
- Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across departments.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information.
